The first image was released from Meryl Streep plays the Baroness Thatcher the Iron Lady, the upcoming Hollywood movie about the life of former British prime minister. The biographical film which also stars Jim Broadbent as her husband Sir Denis Thatcher Lady, began filming in late January.It is produced by Pathe and Film4 and directed by British director Phyllida Lloyd, who is best known for his work in theater.Streep, one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood, was considered one of the few women able to play convincingly Mrs. Thatcher.But manufacturers are faced with concerns about how an American would be received to play the game, and suggestions that the role should have gone in search of an actress.The film will focus primarily on the period immediately preceding the Falklands War.
